Tearing down to the studs, pre-architect phase.

Hello all, Just as the title says I'm tearing down to the studs while waiting for an architect to schedule a walk thru. This is a row house with joists going from side to side of the house. We are looking to take out all the walls on the first floor.

heres the wall in question, parallel to the joists.

Came across this little contraption. While taking down the pocket doors plaster and exterior face I found this above.

Here is whats on top of that wall, no footing below

Any thoughts if this is load bearing or just built in for the door way?

Here is what we think is the load bearing wall, even though its not supported from the basement directly.

Yes an architect is coming were just trying to move fast to hit deadlines, (aka not be homeless)
